Four Steps to Begin a Relationship with Jesus
Admit That You Are a Sinner
In life, no matter how hard we try to live well, we still fall short of being truly good. That is because we are all sinners. The Bible says: “There is no one who does good, not even one.” We cannot become who we long to be without Jesus.
Know That Jesus Died on the Cross for You
The Bible says, “But God proves His love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” This is the Good News: God loves us so much that He sent His only Son to die on the cross, even though we did not deserve it.
Repent of Your Sins
The Bible tells us to repent of our sins and turn to God, so that our sins may be blotted out. Instead of running away from God, run to Him.
Receive Jesus into Your Life
Becoming a Christian is not simply believing in a religion or going to church. It is a life in which Jesus lives in your heart. Jesus said: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.”
A PRAYER TO RECEIVE CHRIST
Lord, I know that I am a sinner. I believe that You died for my sins. Right now, I turn from my sins. Please receive me and come into my heart. I believe that You are the Savior of my life. Thank You for saving me. Amen.
